December 11, 2018 – On November 30th 2018, the 41st president of the United States, George H.W. Bush, took his last train ride in a special funeral train pulled by Union Pacific 4141 SD70ACe and accompanying 9096 SD70ACe to the his final resting place at the George H.W. Bush Library in College Station, Texas.
Since that funeral train rolled, the first such train since 1969, M.T.H. has received countless requests for the return of 4141 to the M.T.H. lineup.
Beginning in 2019, M.T.H. will release 4141 and 9096 locomotives in four different iterations: RailKing O Gauge; Premier O Scale; HO Scale; and an all-new RailKing One Gauge model. In addition to the locomotives, a specially decorated baggage car – emulating the deco on the funeral car used in President Bush’s train – will also be produced to complement the RailKing O Gauge and Premier O Scale locomotives.
